By David Jacquot Blogs have become a vital source for current information and the exchange of critical thought on many topics. The practice of law is no exception. Therefore, a new Blog has been created to provide educational information on tax attorney topics. This Blog will contain articles, case summaries, tax news and “everything” that is related to tax lawyers. Visitors can post comments on the information on the site or start a linked commentary on the tax attorney subjects of their choice. This site is destined to become the “go-to” site for tax lawyer information. When formed, the Blog initially contained the following articles: Don’t Get Sued!!! Does a Taxpayer Representative have a Duty to Prevent a Client from Disclosing Incriminating Information? This article reviews the recent changes to IRS practice rules that could casue CPAs and Enrolled Agents to be sued for failing to protect or prevent their client from providing potentially incriminating information to them. The article discussed the problem and provides easy, common sense solutions to protect the non-attorney tax practitioner. A must read for all CPAs and Enrolled Agents. Cover Your Assets!!! This short article provides a primer on Asset Protection. It covers the need for asset protection, and some tax and non-tax traps to avoid in designing your plan. Childrens Birthday Party Ideas

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Kara Kelso Children’s Birthday Parties can be fun, but exausting for you. The following ideas aply for children ages 2-12 (more birthday party ideas at Idea Queen). The most important part of any children’s party is to keep it simple. Kids have a way of amazing us with how entertained they can keep eachother with even the simplest of activities. (If you are ever in doubt, give your child a box and watch them for a few hours). Here are some ideas to make a smooth and flexible birthday party. Planning the Party Before you buy anything, you’ll want to first plan the party. What’s the theme? How many kids will there be? Do you need games? This isn’t always necessary for younger children, but as they get older becomes important. You’ll also want to pick the place where the party will be. There’s nothing wrong with having it at home, but you could also have a party at the park, a kid-friendly restuarant (Chucky Cheese for example), or another fun place. The Checklist With any party you are going to need supplies. This is a given, but make sure you have everything on your list a few days before your party. Don’t forget the cake, party favors (if you need them), ice cream, etc. Depending on where the party is you may not need much, but make sure you have it all. Invitations If the child is school age, there’s going to be a guest list. Be sure to send the invitations out at least a week ahead of time so other parents have enough time to buy gifts. I know I’ve had problems with rushing to get gifts in time because I didn’t get the invitation until the day before the party. Keep the other parent in mind, and offer an RSVP so you know how many extra children you’ll have on that day. Games, Favors, & Activities This is going to depend on the age of the children invited to the party. While a schedule isn’t recomended, you’ll still need to do a bit of planning if you are having a long party. Older children can help in planning their party and making their own list of things they want to do with their guests. Younger children might need some help, and you may need to have some activities to do to keep them occupied especially if you hold the party in your own home. Coloring books, bubbles, and other activities can work for younger children. Keep some back up ideas in hand for those that just don’t want to do anything. Now that you have some ideas, you should have a fun and happy birthday party for your child! —————— About the Author: Kara Kelso is the mother of 2 and owner of several online businesses. The Myths of Career Change

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Jeffrey Levine Chances are you already have many ideas about what it takes to successfully transition into a new career, even if you have never done it before. Some of those ideas might be useful most probably are not. In this article I would like to expose The Myths of Career Change, which might actually be holding you back. MYTH #1: PASSION AND WORK ARE NOT COMPATIBLE In fact, research shows the opposite to be true. Most successful people are those who have learned to follow their passion. The problem is that many of us were taught to be rational when we make career decisions. So we buried our passion. Think about your own career path. Maybe you were passionate about writing when you were younger, but made the rational choice to go into nursing. Maybe you were passionate about working with children, but decided accounting would be a smarter choice. (By the way, if nursing or accounting is your passion, and you followed it, congratulations.) When we are passionate about our work, we are able to be spontaneous and joyful because we are tapping into our natural strengths and abilities. When we enjoy and are fully engaged in our work, our self-esteem is higher, and we are able to perform at a higher level. On the other hand, when we are unable or unwilling to connect emotionally to our daily tasks, we are less likely to be successful. To draw an analogy, if you are in the wrong career, it is like a cactus trying to grow in the middle of a forest. It doesnt belong there, it wont grow and the same is true for you. You wont grow and success will be very unlikely. Myth #2: THE WAY TO BE SUCCESSFUL IS TO PICK A CAREER IN ORDER TO MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO SOMEDAY QUIT AND DO WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO Again, studies confirm that this isnt what successful people do. They, instead, are so absorbed in their career they work long hours, think about their work constantly, talk about it to their partners and friends they have that fire in the belly. In other words, their commitment to their work is unwavering. But if you are working just make money and you are postponing enjoying your work for some later date, you will be unable to maintain that type of commitment over a long period of time. Successful people have made an important discovery - that the journey itself is even more important than the goal. Myth #3: YOU NEED TO BE SURE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU START DOING SOMETHING This belief holds people back from making any moves at all. People who have successfully changed their career began by experimenting; trying out new opportunities part-time, on a small scale, beginning weekend projects, volunteering, taking night classes or going back to school. They found a way to stick their toe in the water. When you begin exploring, you actually begin to experience your possible future and what it might feel and look like. You can then make adjustments in your course as you gain more experience and your direction becomes clearer. The reason is simple. For years, you have been molded by what you do. Therefore, you need to actually start doing something else. If you are the kind of person that likes to do extensive research, make lists, take assessment tests, and research potential companies before making a move, do it. Gathering information can be useful. Dont forget, however, that you need to begin taking steps to try out what you are learning. Career transition does not follow a straight line and no two transitions are the same. It can take 2-4 years and it is often a case of three steps forward and two steps back. By waiting until your plan is perfect, you increase the chance that no moves will be taken. So, begin the search for where your passions lie. Start by doing experiments, trying things out. Dont let career change myths keep you stuck. By changing some of your beliefs about your transition, you will actually change the direction of your journey. Good luck. The Long Path Versus The Ultimate Truth

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Marco Negroni MATT: Do you believe in God, yes or no? PETER: Its a stupid question. MATT: Why? PETER: You just explained why. MATT: Did I? PETER: The why question is the meaning of Philosophy. The distinction between human beings and animals is that question; the question by which we are evolving so much and by which we are constructing so many castles in the air. Our specie is characterized by the continue reformulation of our existence reason, given increasing possible solutions as we increase in number and technology. The Why question make us consider our existence and formulate possible explanations to it; it is because of that question that we have researched so much around and inside us for a solution. Religion, science, physics, etc are all different ways to approach the same question and possible ways to find a solution. MATT: So why you think thats the answer? PETER: I never said why is the answer. The majority of people are considering our intellectual evolution a divine intervention, and we assume that our evolving is a positive thing. So are animals in the wrong path because they didnt decide to ask them self the same question as we are? By the way Im not a naturalist.Take an individual and suppose he believes to see somebody who doesnt exist. In this world we are something more than six billions and suppose he is the only one who can see that somebody. For our medical definitions we should refer to that person as a schizophrenic because affected by hallucination, and much more he believes in what he sees, that we cannot see, much more they would consider him sick. Suppose he claims that the individual he sees is God, but not the God for Christianity nor another known religion. Whether Catholic or not, religious people could refer to that person with the same definition expressed by the doctors, but because nowadays society is very concerned with religious matter, both doctors and spiritual people would start to reconsider the fact in a delicate manner. Then come, somebody could be persuaded by his vision considering it to be true. Suppose those people who start to believe in what the person sees become more and more. Then come, if that person convinces more than three billion people to believe in what he sees, doctors should reconsider their first evaluation. MATT: Whats the relation with this example and the existence of God? PETER: Good question. Today the majority of people believe in the existence of a God and their only proof is given by faith; the same faith which could lead more than three billion people to believe in the sight of somebody who before was given for schizophrenic. MATT: Hows possible that a crazy person could convince so many people? PETER: I never said that person was crazy, but I said doctors would have considered him schizophrenic at first. MATT: This is just a problem of words. I mean, how is that possible that a person alone, without any proof, could convince so many people and even the majority of the world population? PETER: This is a good question too, but history has already shown it. People beliefs are based on our life experience and the majority of our ideas are others ideas. You learn to talk and write in your language because you believe in the communication your parents believe in. Much more a person or a thing seems attractive to you, and more it shapes your beliefs; its a process of imitation due to analysis and faith. MATT: So faith is innate? PETER: Faith is part of everybody existence. MATT: But faith in God, is that part of everybody existence? PETER: Im impressed by your capacity of questioning. God is a word we use in this specific language to identify an idea which is different in everybody because everybody is different one to another. MATT: So my God is different from somebody elses God. PETER: You can say your idea of God is different from somebody elses idea of God. The way you perceive God is defined by your being, the religion you believe or not, the ideas of God you have achieved and the choice about them you have made. MATT: So, do I have to assume there is no such a only God because it is hims, hers or itss idea we have in mind, and because of this definition, the number of Gods is the same as the number of ideas related to it? PETER: Im impressed by your capacity. God, or the multitude of ideas we relate to God in this world is defined by the sum of the ideas about God, whether one, many, or uncountable, male female or asexual, etc and because God, or the ideas we refer to him are limited because increasing or decreasing every day, God can be defined by the infinite ideas by which we define him. MATT: What about people who claim to perceive God in his perfect form, and even if they are not able to explain him, they can feel his infinite greatness. PETER: Somebody claims to feel God, somebody claims to perceive a part of the entity of God, and somebody claims to not feel God at all. By the fact that there is no proof of God existence we cannot demonstrate that God exists, but because theres no proof of God non-existence we cannot prove he doesnt exist at all. When we are asked to think about God we create or interpret an idea we have in mind. People who claim to perceive God are all quite agreed to say they perceive God as infinite. MATT: So God has to be the infinite. PETER: So you claim that God cannot be finite. MATT: Yes I believe God cannot be finite, because it would mean that it would be like one of us. PETER: So if God is infinite? What is infinite? MATT: Infinite is something so big that it is bigger than everything I can imagine PETER: So, what is infinite has to be infinite big because we cannot think about something bigger, but suppose I think about the universe and imagine ten constellations and then I realize the infinite has to be bigger then that so I imagine eleven and twelve constellations. In the moment I achieve a bigger idea I increase the limit of infinite. MATT: Yes, and infinite is exactly the concept you have expressed: something that has no limit. PETER: A good definition, but suppose we use it to consider another infinite form; think about something extremely small, after all to imagine something infinite small is as difficult as considering something extremely big. Suppose you try to imagine the infinite smallest thing you can. Then come, every time you consider a form you realize you can imagine something smaller, and every time you conclude there is something even smaller. So, the infinite process takes place also in this case. MATT: Yes, because in this case too, infinite has no limit, so we can go on and on forever. PETER: So, we have demonstrated your definition, except, suppose I ask you whats the difference between the infinite smallest thing you can imagine and nothing, what would be your answer? MATT: The smallest thing exists and nothing not. PETER: Why one exists and the other doesnt? MATT: Because of the words meaning. PETER: You are right, the meaning of their words imply the presence or not of thing, but can you prove that one exists and the other doesnt? If you consider a thing, something that you can see with your eyes, like this book and you try to think to the smallest book you can, you begin to break pieces of the book like pages. Every page you cut the smallest the book becomes, and the more close to nothing it is. You keep going until there are no more pages, so you begin to resize the cover by taking apart pieces of it. The smallest the book becomes, again, the closer to nothing becomes. Suppose you keep going forever, and you can cut it with your mind, where would you end up? MATT: I would get with something even smaller then what I can imagine. There would be nothing in my hands. PETER: So as you say you couldnt even imagine it because of its infinite small size. And by the same process of imaging nothing you would imagine something infinite close to nothing, but not nothing. Now, how would you prove that nothing does exist, using the example by which you resize the book? After all your consideration, you would realize that even by opposite perspectives, infinite is not definable by a static concept. Imagine that nothing exists but we cant imagine it, so convey with me that nothing would be at least equal to the smallest thing we can imagine, but this is not in line with your definition, because in this case the infinite smallest thing wouldnt be smallest than nothing. Suppose I ask you to consider them and then decide which is the smallest, would you reconsider you definition of infinite? MATT: So whats the real definition of infinite? PETER: The concept we have in mind of Infinite is not the limit or things as by the definition you gave to me or by the one in the example before. The smallest thing in its limit equals nothing but the process of achieving a limit characterizes our idea of infinite. MATT: So, by imaging the process to achieve a limit we abstract the idea of infinite. PETER: No. To perceive the infinite as a concept is like to achieve something unachievable. By imaging the process to achieve a limit we dont imagine infinite, although we start the path which ends in the achievement of the idea of infinite. Because our mind is finite, as all the three components of our existence: space, time and matter, we are able to achieve the finite concepts of things as the finite forms of ideas. MATT: But if God, as the infinite smallest thing, is something so small, than nobody can see it and maybe nobody will ever see it; or, as the infinite biggest thing, it is something so big that nobody can see it and maybe nobody will ever see it; does it mean we should not believe in its existence because there is no way we will prove the existence of God? PETER: What is smaller between nothing and the infinite smallest thing? Then come that the idea that God doesnt exist is not that far from the idea of the infinite form we try to achieve in our mind. But if there is not a big difference in between infinite and finite, whether there was, why could not be God everything, whether existing and infinite big; or nothing, whether not existing and infinite small?Whether existing or not, everything or nothing, God is the limit we need in order exist. MATT: So, why if you believe in God, yes or no, is a stupid question? PETER: Because whether answering yes or no we define our limitation of thinking and we decline the real value of the question do you believe in God for its value as a question with no answer, which intrinsically contains the power to increase our reason, and whether existing or not our idea of God. The Season of Advent-ure!

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Becki Maxson Several years ago on Christmas morning, I had the realization that, if I was honest with myself, my heart felt strangely empty. Sure, the house was decorated, the tree was lovely, gifts were bought and wrapped, cookies were baked, greetings were sent and received. But when did Christmas become about those things? It seemed everything was readyexcept my heart. That was a horrible emptiness and I knew that, even though I had known Jesus since a child, something was wrong with how I had allowed Christmas to become more about things of this world than about the King of Glory. That was the beginning of an important change for our Christmas preparations. Throughout the centuries of our Christian heritage, the concept of quieting and preparing our hearts during the Advent season in preparation for Christmas has been largely lost in the modern church. There are many ways to bring an intentional focus and preparation to your heart in these weeks leading up to Christmas. I encourage you to explore some of these options for yourself. Advent (traditionally beginning the fourth Sunday before Christmas) is a time of expectant waiting, a time of anticipation and preparation. Just as Mary glorified God in her response to the shocking news that she was the virgin to carry and deliver the infant Emmanuel, “God with us,” so we can also look forward to what is coming from God, to ponder these things in our hearts, and to submit our hearts to His will. Jesus coming is not only good news of great joy to all people, but as the German pastor and martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, said, “frightening news for everyone who has a conscience.” Theres only one rational reaction to the arrival of the King of the Universe in our presence, and that is humble repentance! As Jesus began His public ministry, his cousin John called out in Matthew 3, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Take time to examine your heart this season, be real before the Lord, confess your sins, and thank Him for coming to earth, for becoming Love with skin on, taking on the form of a bondservant, and paying the ultimate penalty to set you free from sin through His blood atonement for you. That is the gift of eternal life for all who believe! Near the end of His time on earth, Jesus told His disciples in John 14:2-3, “In My Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Doesnt that just sound like the Lover of our Souls? He wants us to be with Him! We endure in faith, waiting for that final fulfillment of His promise to come back and take us to be with Him. So we are now a people between two Advents. We remember and celebrate the first coming, and were to be living in readiness for His second coming, doing the work He gave us to do, as Christ did the work His Father gave Him to do (John 17:4). Like the servants working for a master who is away in Luke 12, or the virgins with their lamps in Matthew 25 waiting for the Bridegroom, are we being prudent and staying prepared, living in the light of His Word, or are we drowsy and lazy, letting opportunities to share Gods love pass us right by for lack of attention, letting those weeds spring up and choke out Gods best purpose and calling on our lives? The end of the year is a natural time to look back and reflect. How engaged were you this year in pursuing God personally, in wrestling with Him like Jacob did in Genesis 32, until He gives you your blessing and your destiny? He does have a destiny for you, you know. Are you ready? Live in the light of His second coming, when Christ will return not only for us, His Beloved Bride, His Church, but to vindicate His Lordship over all powers and principalities of this earth, and to establish the authority of His Word for all people. Every tribe, tongue, and nation will bend the knee and be judged. Does it break your heart to see the lost around you, and around the world? How can you expand your outreach to non-believers this Christmas and in 2007? Pray about it. God has an answer for you specifically. As our hearts prepare Him room and we celebrate that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, lets re-align our lives with the eternal perspective that awaits His second coming. Let the Advent-ure rise in your own heart, then give it out in obedience and in gratitude for His grace in your life. Colossians 3:15-17 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Great Online Dating Tool That Men Can Use To Attract Women On Any Good Online Dating Site

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

By Teddy Shabba A great tool that most good online dating sites have that men can use to attract women right now is; the “Online Now” search option. Women who are online right now tend to respond to email that they receive while they are on the dating site. Of course, all the rules of online dating for men pretty much stay the same. The only thing that changes is usually your response rate time. The first thing you are going to want to do is come up with an interesting enough email to make her want to respond. Your first email is the most important because if she doesn’t respond to it the game is over. Once she has responded to your email this is your chance to be bold and suggest the two of you meet for coffee right now or you can hold off and suggest another time and date and at the same time ask for her phone number. Her next response must be moving towards a meeting, if it in anyway is only moving towards another email the game is over. However, if she has given you her phone number only call when you have a specific thin in mind for you two. Even though, you have eliminated the serial online daters the serial phone daters still exist as well as the “stand him uppers”. To limit these types of women from having an effect on you it is important that you call her knowing what it is you want to do (where to meet) and that the time is one at which you aren’t missing out on anything important or would want to do. In the end, the “Online Now” search option is an effective tool for men o use o meet women online, if used correctly. How To Clean And Apply Patina

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By David Gomm Okay, it’s not brain surgery, it doesn’t even sound that complicated, but if you follow these steps, you’ll have success when applying patina, and if you don’t, you’ll end up with very mixed results. Check out the photos that go with this article at http://www.betterstainedglass.com/Newsletter/Archives/2006Oct-cleanandpatina/cleanandpatina.htm 1. Patina is a chemical that changes the color of the outer layer of a metal. Sculptors apply it to statues to age them and copper roofs sometimes get patinas applied to them to hurry the aging process along. The element that is common in all applications is that the metal needs to be clean for the chemical reaction to work well. 2. To get our window clean, we first apply a blue window cleaner to the window to get the major debris off of it. The flux we use in making windows is water soluble, so the blue cleaner does a good job cleaning it from the surface of the window. So squirt some on and then towel it off. 3. Next we need to clean the window even more thoroughly so that it will readily accept the patina. We apply kwik-clean brand cleaner. It chemically removes flux that might remain on the lead we want to patina. So we squirt some on and then towel it off, getting it nice and dry. 4. Now we can apply patina. The patina will dissolve the rag that is used to apply the chemical, so we use one which is very small and then toss it out when we get done. We don’t use paper towels in any of the steps because they disintegrate. 5. Here we are applying black patina. It’s important to pour a generous amount of the patina on the window. Flooding the area lets the patina react properly. If too little is used, the patina may try to turn copper instead of black. 6. Here we are applying copper patina to a panel. It needs to be applied generously or it will try to turn black. Avoid running any of the patina to the outside edges of the window if it has a zinc border. Zinc will react to the patina and turn black and then try to turn the rest of the lead black instead of copper. 7. Once the reaction has taken place we can clean the window again. We flood the window with water (or blue window cleaner) and then use kwik-clean to clean and neutralize the patina. It needs to be applied generously so that there is enough to get under and around all the places where patina might have gotten. 8. Finally, we apply wax to the window to seal the lead lines so that they won’t get corroded as easily. We use Clairity brand finishing compound. we pour a small amount on the window and rub it all over the surface. 9. We let the wax dry. And then rub it vigorously with clean dry rags. We rub and buff vigorously till the window glistens. The only time we skip this step is when the art glass is insulated. In that case the wax prevents the binding butyl rubber from sticking to the art glass. We used black patina and the metal begins to shine and glisten and almost looks silver, but it really is black at the right angle. So finally, we have the completed, backlit copper panels. They glisten from the waxing and the polishing. They really look like a piece of art. Two Important Probability Sampling Techniques

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Arvind Bhate Sample, as we know is a part of the population under study. The sample must be the ‘true’ representative of the population in terms of characteristics possessed by the population elements. It is difficult, actually impossible to draw a true sample from a population. The survey research pro will always try to draw a sample which is as close to ‘true’ as possible. There are two fundamental types of sampling technique - probability and non-probability sampling techniques. This article tries to illustrate two of the more important probability sampling techniques. 1. Random Sampling - when all the elements have an equal chance of getting selected in the sample, it is termed as random sampling. It works like a lottery system where each ticket has an equal chance of winning. In a way, this method is the most perfect method. However, it is difficult to apply this method for two major reasons - availability of sampling frame (list of population elements) and scatter over the geographical area if the sample is small. Consider for example a population of one million car owners and survey research pro has to do a sample of 100 from this population. Imagine this sample of 100 from the whole population scattered across the country. On the other hand, if a survey research involving readership of a local newspaper is concerned (and the list is available), this method would be the most useful and easy to deploy. 2. Systematic Sampling - as the name suggests this method applies a very systematic approach to draw a sample from the population. Suppose a survey research has a population of 10,000 and the survey research pro would like to draw a sample of 200 from this population. First of all divide the population size by the desired sample size to result is what is known as sampling quotient. In our illustration, the sampling quotient will be 50 (10,000 divided by 200). Now select any arbitrary number between 1 and 10. Let’s say 4 is that number. Now add sampling quotient to this number. The result will be 54 (4 + 50). Now add 50 again to this number to get 104 and so on. One should keep on adding sampling quotient to the resultant number. Thus the sample will consist of person / group / organization number 4, 54, 104 and so on. Main problem faced with this method are availability of sampling frame (list of population elements) and its constitution. Constitution will make a huge difference to the final sample listing. For example, if names of all the females in a list have a salutation Ms., they will be clustered together. On the other hand if they are scattered across the list (A to Z), their probability of getting selected in the sample will be different. Waterfall Gardens

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Elizabeth Morgan Waterfall gardens are gardens built around natural or artificially built waterfalls. They are generally located far from the hustle and bustle of urban life. They are designed to be abundant in natural beauty and tranquility. In fact, the very purpose of having a waterfall in the center of the garden is to dampen outside vehicular sounds and to make people feel more harmonious with nature. The waterfalls are prime attractions in such waterfall gardens. Waterfalls in such gardens are constructed using natural rock to build the cascade. The rocks are placed aesthetically and the same time subtly enough to seem natural. Water is allowed to flow into ponds, which house fishes and various aquatic plants. There may be exotic species of both in a bid to attract more visitors. Sometimes the ponds are crafted to be long enough to run through the entire length of the garden. The banks of the ponds are lined with pebbles or rounded stones to enhance their look. Such gardens use decorative ferns and trees in order to provide shade and botanical value to them. Some of them also grow trees from different continents. This process requires acclimatization of the trees, done by experts. Sometimes the names of these trees, common as well as binomial, are displayed on boards hung around them, along with other botanical information. People usually spend a couple of hours or even a whole day in these gardens. There are trails designed to guide the visitors around the gardens. Most of these trails are built parallel to the waterfall ponds. Bistros, park benches and canopied tables with chairs around them are kept at regular intervals. There are also food stalls, gift shops and bathrooms for the visitors. Since waterfall gardens are used for commercial purposes, great care is taken in their designing and landscaping. A team of experts chalks up the plans and a team of contractors looks after the construction. These gardens also require regular staff for reserving and conducting the visitors, as well as for the maintenance of the gardens. Waterfall gardens do not charge their visitors much. Several of them are subsidized by the government and so they provide free entry for their visitors. Some of them charge monthly or annual fees, which are quite nominal. Waterfalls provides detailed information about waterfalls, indoor waterfalls, waterfall gardens, waterfall ponds and more. Waterfalls is the sister site of Preformed Pond Liners. Transforming Your Thoughts is Key for Dealing with Depression

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Foras Aje The Greatest Teacher that ever lived once said: As a Man thinks in his heart so is he. What you constantly think of a situation is quite inevitably what becomes of it; therefore it is paramount that in any and every situation our thinking should be positive. If there is one fact that religion, science and psychology seem to agree on, it is that the mind is indeed the most powerful force in the world. Yoga sages have stated that whoever can control the mind is indeed a powerful human being. That said, it is obvious that in coping with stress and dealing with depressive situations, one should make every step to think positively as perhaps the first weapon to combat negative challenges. Friends, everything starts with a thought. Moreover, thoughts have the innate ability of phenomenally materializing into what it is that is projected in your mind. Consequently, it will be safe to say we should all make attempts to change our mental habits to belief instead of disbelief as much as possible. This of course will be most paramount when seeking ways to overcoming depression. Characterized by feelings of worthlessness, doubt, pessimism, if we allow depressive thoughts to constantly permeate our minds, they could actually gain the ability to diffuse into our speech and actions and consequently could aggravate the very situations and challenges one is facing that may be causing depressive thoughts in the first place. When dealing with problems arising from depression, the famous psychologist-William James has this cryptic quote to say: Our belief at the beginning of a doubtful undertaking or challenging situation is the one thing that insures a successful outcome at the end This reminds me of another powerful verse in the Bible found in Mark 4 verse 23: If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. Combining the gist and effect of both quotes, one can see that it is imperative to believe in and expect the best in any situation one may be going through. In so doing you will bring everything into the realm of possibility and success. In no way does this mean that we should sit back and just expect things to miraculously change. It means we must change our thought processes about our situations first, perform the actions that will lead us to and keep us on the path to success at overcoming our challenges and as words, thoughts and actions have an effect on each other as factors, one is also advised to constantly speak positively about what challenges one may be facing. Combining all three factors will greatly help in making sure each component (most importantly our thoughts) remains positively tuned towards overcoming our depression. My friends, although it may not always be an easy journey to overcome our challenges, I would like you to remember this quote as well “Life’s problems are like knives, which either serve us or cut us, as we grasp them by the blade or the handle: Grasp a difficulty or problem by the blade and it cuts; grasp it by the handle and you can use it constructively” Take the quote above into consideration and keep it in mind my friend as THE reason to constantly have faith and to hope for the best when it comes to dealing with depression. It is perhaps the one thing that will ensure success at the end.
